What the hell? Dudes turning into jets? Demon slaying? Hell yeah! These are 2 flicks filled with awesomness and badassery! This is a review of Karas: The Prophecy and Karas: The Revelation. originally a 6 episode OVA in japan edited into 2 movies for the english speaking world. Both are available through the Netflix Instant service.
Orphen is a Dark Fantasy anime, but with a sense of humor. This isn't as gritty and messed up as Berserk, but it still has a serious main plot and complicated characters. This is a review of Season 1, Season 2 is called Orphen: Revenge and that will be reviewed at another time. Both seasons 1 and 2 are available through the Netflix Instant service.
Tired of anime with androgynous males as protagonists and a light-hearted approach? Look no further than Berserk, a simply epic dark fantasy starring Guts, a man so badass, his name is based on something he sees every day of his life. My guest on the show is Team Rival, check out his channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Diglio
This past garage sale season I didn't find much along the lines of video games. I did however find a few houses that had boxes and boxes of old comic books. Most of the comics are from the mid 60's to the mid 90's nothing super rare or valuable. I looked around the boxes and picked out a few comics that leapt out at me as being interesting. I got a few Spectacular Spider Man's from 1977 and a few Batman's from the 80's. Coincidentally they both featured the Scarecrow despite one being from 1984 and the other from 1988.
This morning I performed the Hard Drive upgrade and am now the proud owner of a 200gb original Xbox. It was pretty easy although there were a few hurtles to jump. The video tutorial I followed suggested using two Xboxes the second being used to power the second hard drive but this gave me some trouble. Partway through the cloning process the second Xbox powered down. Luckily I had a hard drive enclosure on hand which was perfect for powering the new hard drive.
Whenever I get interested in something I want to know everything about it and how it works and what I can use it for. Right now I'm interested in LAN parties and multiplayer events. I've been thinking that the original Xbox is an inexpensive and intersting route to start out upon. A while ago I softmodded my Xbox and hadn't really done anything with it. The process was fairly simple but recently I purchsed another Xbox for setting up some LAN events and I had to softmod it. I had to do a bit of googling to get everything I needed so I'm going to put together a tutorial and try to keep as much info in one conveniant place as possible.
Last week I made a video and wrote a short article about the Sega Saturn's Video CD add on. In the comments a few people mentioned a few other Consoles ability to play the Video CD format which sparked my curiosity. One comment mentioned an early Japanese version of the PS1 that could play VCDs so I did a little bit of googling and combing through ancient forum posts.
Would you feel comfortable playing your PSP sitting at a bus stop? When a gaming company like Nintendo or Sony markets a handheld system as “portable”, how much of that is marketing and how much of that is reality? We know from past systems that a handheld system does not always equal a portable system. (This can be seen with the Sega Game Gear taking 6 AA batteries for a total of 12 min of game time.) On the other hand, there are plenty of handhelds that fit the portable profile quite well. But what exactly are the defining features which classify a handheld as portable or not? The short answer would be: durability, functionality, and sheer size.

Something I've noticed over the past few years is the confusion of video game ratings in regards to reviews. Across many forums and message boards I've noticed that if a game gets less than an 8.0 it's regarded as a bad game and a definite pass if it's a 7.5 or lower. That's not how a 1 - 10 scale works. At all. So that's why I've been using a simplified rating scale for my youtube reviews.
Doo doo game
Ambivalence
Mondo Cool!
Or basically don't like it, you may or may not like it and wow I love it! This scale is in response to the confusion brought on by 1 -10 scales or one of of five items ratings or whatever. How often do you really try to slap a number on a vague concept based on something as intangible as likes and dislikes. Some times you just like something and can't really quantify it. Is that game really an 85%? Or is it an 83%? Who the hell knows?!
If you're going to use a 1 - 10 scale why bother with decimal points? You might as well just use a 1 - 100 scale. I recently heard a podcast that was using a 1 out of 3 scale. They used decimal points so why not just make it 1 out of 30?
I think the simplicity of Like, no strong feelings either way and love it is much easier to relate to. Would you rate your favorite foods out of 100%? Probably not!
I talk a lot about Xbox 360's and my tirals and tirublations with getting free 360's by Frankensteining them together.

In an attempt to pander to my younger pop culturally aware audience I'm going to talk about some MTV garbage I was forcibly subjected to. That Meat faced blond kid is from a show called Teen Moms about ugly sluts that are now negligent parents thanks to indiscriminate humping.
All of you wonderful listeners of The Mondo Cool Cast already know that I've been talking a lot of shit about getting my own public access show. Well it's happening. Yesterday August 8, 2010 I went to the DATV studio and participated in the free orientation. They walked us through the studio and explained the general process. I am now a paid member of DATV. I'm going to get a sweet badge so I don't look like some asshole without an ID badge. Starting October 6 I'll be taking a slew of classes designed to make me a TV multimedia mega super star.
Presenting a new TigerClawTV series made specifically for MondoCoolCast.com. Tiger Claw TV's Kung-Fu Theater! This is the pilot episode so please leave comments and let me know what you think!
Woke up this morning and ate some boneless chicken wings, my stummy is exploding now because of it. After that breakfast of champions I sat down and played some Banjo-Kazooie for the first time. Not bad! It's the first 3D platformer I've really put in any time with on the N64. It seems like the first few levels are throwing a lot of fucking new moves at me that the next time I pick it up I will have forgotten.

Episode 00012 of the Mondo Cool Cast! This week I talk about FINALLY beating Metroid Prime after Seven long long years! I shoot the shit with Sinister Moon from youtube and as always answer emails and audio comments while battling technical difficulties associated with doing a live show!

How badly do you hate stickers and marker all over your used video games? Does it burn your ass when some moron writes on the end of your N64 carts with magic marker without applying a protective layer of space age super wonder masking tape? Me too. One of the worst offenders are those silver stickers on former rental copies that always leave behind that magical silver goop when you peel the sticker off of the cart.
There is however one reality show from Japan that I absoloutely LOVE! Game Center CX chronicles Shinya Arino taking on some of the hardest video games ever made. Arino's dedicated work ethic towards completing objectives is truly inspiring. Putting in 14 hour game sessions trying to beat crushingly difficult Famicom games is a regular occurance for Arino on Game Center CX.
From the article:
"We may take High Definition gaming for granted now with the prevalence of HD TVs and HD-ready consoles like the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it’s still a relatively new technology for gamers in the states. Not so for our counterparts in Japan. Although it wasn’t quite the HD we’re used to nowadays, over a decade ago a Japanese video game made one small step for Bomberman, and one giant leap for Bombermankind."
It's a very interesting read and very much worth checking out.

In celebration of having Mark on the Mondo Cool Cast I'm giving away a Sonic Genesis! The Sonic Genesis is a theme I've painted onto a model 2 Sega Genesis. All you have to do to enter the contest is leave a comment on this post. If you tell an amusing story or joke that makes me laugh your name will be entered into the random drawing twice! When you post a comment make sure it's not annonymous because I'll be selecting a winner and reading their name on Mondo Cool Cast 11. When I announce the winner they will then have to email me their address so you'll have to check back in and receive your free Sonic Genesis!
A few months ago I subscribed to Nintendo power through Amazon. It was only $5 bucks and what the hell I like seeing all the new games coming out and having something to read on the dumper. Finally after two months of waiting the first issue got here (I think it's an issue with Amazon not NP) with a beautiful gold foil cover featuring Dragon Quest IX. The cover looks amazing! The back has a Dragon drawn by Akira Toriyama in his playful and imaginative style. Looks great! I understand Nintendo published the game in America and really wants to push the game in this territory and their doing a great job of it in this magazine. Dragon Quest IX has made plenty of effort to appeal to a Western audience offering tons of customization, no random encounters and a heavy focus on multiplayer.

nAs you may well be aware of I'm a fan of something called video games. What you might not be able to tell is that I'm a fan of the hilariously genius comedy magic duo Penn and Teller. So when I found out about their Sega CD game Smoke and Mirrors I had to know more and I had to play it. The game was never actually released but there were review copies sent out to gaming publications of the time. It's from these review copies that the game was leaked to the internet.
Christmas 1998 my idea of video games changed. I had to stop and rethink video games as a medium of entertainment. It was the day after Christmas and my friend from across the street Michael had come over to ask me a very important question. It had been a long time since I really hung out with Michael so it was a little odd that he came over at all but his mission was important. The first thing he asked me was "Did you get Metal Gear Solid?!" He was beaming with excitement. "Yeah I did get it actually." I answered curiously. I hadn't really heard of the game, I had seen the hilarious commercial but hadn't really thought much about it. Back then Dr Jerry Terrifying wasn't a hardcore gamer that followed all the news in the gaming magazines and primitive internet.
I've always had a fascination with online play on a home console. I didn't really have access to the internet until 1999. My Pops had a PC and an internet connection as early as 1995 but he hoarded it all to himself keeping me in the dark about world wide web. The internet remained mysterious and elusive until I got my grubby mitts on a PC of my own and started paying for internet access in late 1999. Because of this the idea of accessing the internet on the Sega Dreamcast without having to buy a PC always appealed to me and seemed like a good alternative. See I have this glitch in my brain that won't let me play games on a PC so if I were to game online it would be on a console and as far as I knew at the time you could only do that with the Sega Dreamcast.
I recently found a nice looking little theme to use for Mondocool.net. What do you think? Looks about a billion times better than the old layout. Leave me some comments telling me what you think!
I remember the first time I ever read about Ad Hoc Party thinking about how useful and cool it would be to have the free app on the Playstation Network that lets you play Ad Hoc only games with your friends over the PSN. Being a brilliant idea and extremely useful it naturally didn't come out in America until a year after the Japanese release.

The construction right out my window that's making my house shake really makes it difficult to sleep. What a pain! It did force me to get up at the right time to work on my pokemon project. You see in Soul Silver there's this hideous fish pokemon that takes 8 days to evolve into a bad ass dragon pokemon. You have to get it a massage but the massage is only available from 3 to 4 pm. I think I need three or four more of those massages before my hideous fish monster blossoms into a beautiful dragon monster. Some of these pokemon evolutions are freakin complicated.
In other news I'm still working on Policenauts. I'm not completely caught up to where I left off the first time playing the game so I haven't really been sucked in. I was super absorbed into the plot the first go round but now that I'm just trying to catch back up it's going a little slow. I wasn't even that far into the game! I hope I get hooked on the game again after I catch back up and start making new progress. It is cool playing it on the Psone and the text is big enough to read clearly on that tiny little screen. Awesome!
I still need to pick up a ps1 mouse. I just wish I could afford one! I might go check Vac's n Videos and see if they've got one. I've been saying that for a week but I still haven't walked up there haha. I'll get around to it, I swear.

Starting Resident Evil 5. It's pretty bad ass actually. The only problem I have is I can't move while shooting. What the fuck was Capcom thinking? Zombie dogs are boucning all over the damn place and I can't evade them. It's a real pain in the dick.
I used to keep a training log on Xanga. It's been years since I've updated it. I may not continue posting training logs on here as it has nothing to do with vidja games but fuck...it's my website.
So I was about 5.50 miles into my 9 mile run and the news paper jerk had been driving around the neighborhood forever. I couldn't make any kind of sense of their route as they'd gone up the same streets multiple times. I know these streets from living in the same neighborhood my entire life and because I have mapped out routes with precise mileage in various configurations so that I've got easy courses and up hill challenge courses for varied training.
Also it's awesome for training because at no point am I futher than about a quarter mile from my house should the need to drop a duece arise, which it often does, ask any distance runner. Shitting happens more than it should. Damn it. But Back to the News Jerk. One of the things I hate about running any time after 4 am is that's when the news jerks are out throwing papers at houses. I'd encountered this jerk like 3 times already. I don't mind so much when I'm running one way and they're coming towards me because we pass eachother and I don't have to worry about some moron driving eratically and stopping every 3 houses to throw papers. When we're going in the same direction and I have to kick up the pace to stay away from them it's good for training but annoying to feel chased for like a quarter mile to half mile. Lame.
Today though the third time I passed that dip shit they went past me then stopped at the corner. I noticed that they put their car in reverse as it's pitch ass black dark and easy to notice any increase in light. So they put their car in reverse and drive down the street and go about an eigth of a mile in reverse pull up beside me and start ogling. I'm pissed.
What's this jerk fucking staring at? There's tons of morning runners. It's about 4:30 am...its not unusual to see runners out at that time. I saw them all the time when I would be coming home from work around that time. Did they think I looked suspicious because they'd seen me so many times? I looked them in the eye and gave them a mean look and the finger. They put their shit box back into drive and carried on. I was pissed. Had they kept trailing me in reverse I probably would have had to pull them out of their turd bucket and beat their ass in the street.
I was running on the sidewalk because I knew there was a car coming...I generally run in the street unless there's cars coming. If I have my reflective gear on I might stay in the street if they're on the other side of a two lane road...but generally when some idiots driving at night I move to the side walk. Now this news jerk that pulled up on me in reverse was about 3 feet away from me. I was on the sidewalk then there's that little bit of grass between the side walk and the road....about three feet. They had pulled up to the curb right next to me. I'm pretty sure if they stayed there longer than it took for me to shoot a murderous look and the finger at them I would have approached the car and motioned to roll the window down. I'm not sure how that would play out but I'm imagining their limp body face down in the street would have played into the scenerio at one point.
Bottom line is when someone's twice your size and they're in the middle of their 9 mile champion run you probably don't want to fuck with them. They're bigger, have more endurance and you have no idea what their training for. I might have been some MMA meat head champion getting my endurance on for ripping people in half like phone books. Also I know I'm twice this persons size because I saw them get out of their car like 10 times. They were scrawny and short and posed zero physical threat.
The rest of the run was quite pleasent. The moon was full or near full, the sky crystal clear and gorgeous. Finished the run with a nice little sprint and felt faster than I have in years. Real champion beast shit.
Listened to some podcasts...about to send out some audio comments and work on my next youtube video.
Should I continue posting training logs? Leave comments.
Picked up Ghostbusters for the PS3. Its really fun so far and Im digging the character of the new recruit.
Kim Kardashian was air brushed onto an Xbox 360. That's kind of cool. But it just made me think I need to get an Air Brush and start painting some cool shit on Xboxes and ps3's. How dope would it be to have a big ol Virgin Mary on the side of your 360?
So I spent a few hours changing the host for the Mondo Cool Cast. It's been a tedious pain in the ass but after a few hours of pulling my hair out and screaming I've managed to get everything worked out. I've got a free host, unlimited bandwidth, still able to follow my stats and all that sweet stuff.
So the next episode of the MCC will be posted here and sent out through my RSS feed through feedburner and itunes! Sweet shit! I'll be linking to this page when I put up the next video advertising the MCC...which is cool because I'll be able to link to a much sweeter URL. For the most part everything is very neatly organized here on blogger. So anyone that sees this go ahead and use the link at the top of the page to subscribe to my new iTunes feed.

I've started my own gaming podcast! In the upper right hand corner of this blog I've embedded a player that plays the archived episodes of the Mondo Cool Cast. Sadly it doesn't show the play list. It will play all the archived episodes but you need to use the next track button to browse through them...it doesn't offer any information. Kind of limited...but its free so who cares.
Also I recommend checking out episodes two and three of the Mondo Cool Cast...I think they're quality internet radio. The first episode can be skipped. It's just an hour of my talking about what my goals for the show are and a little bit of bullshitting. Good stuff.
Also I'll be appearing in an upcoming episode of Tiger Claw Radio. That'll be cool.
Also coming up on the Mondo Cool Cast I'll be talking to a good youtube friend of mine TheRealxXTubbyXx. We'll be talking about this totally rad video he shot of this arcade repair shop. Cool stuff.
Also I've got a few episodes planned out for the future of the show and at least the next few guests have been secured.
Wow. I keep coming back to TES IV Oblivion! What an amazing game. I've already beaten it but have started a new character and am having a blast going through a second time. This is one of those games that I can pick up play for a few days or weeks then drop it for just as long then pick it right back up. Same with Morrowind. I haven't actually beaten Morrowind...I really should finish the main plot of that game and all the other quests I can find.
I actually preffer Morrowind...fuck. Tomorrow I'm going to fire up Morrowind again! Hahahaha! Me and my insane gaming ADD.
I finally got a fully working Sega CDX. It is an amazing piece of hardware. So compact and full of amazing. I only had to fuss with it a little bit to get it working. The AC input had a little corrosion and it looked like it was bent down when it needed to be bent up slightly to keep the AC adaptor in snugly. So I used a push pin to scrape off a little corrosion and then got it under the little hump and bent it up slightly. Works 100%. The First Sega CDX I got has much more severe issues that will need further fucking with.
I was thinking though. The Sega CDX would be an amazing starting point for a portable Sega CD unit. If I were an electronic engineer I'd love to give that a shot.
Once upon a time there was a girl on youtube. This girl liked awesome things like Solid Snake and Travis touch down. She quickly rose to the top of the youtube gaming community and was posting tons of amazing reviews and interviews. She's met with and spoke to David Hayter the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss the screen writer that brought us The Watchmen...a dream of mine...she was living the life! Thousands upon thousands of subscribers and fans watched every one of her entertaining energy filled videos.
Not only was she a girl gamer but she just oozes personality. You can really tell she was having a good time in front of the camera and enjoying every last bit of her youtubing career.
After months of immense internet success as that hot babe that knows what a Solid Snake really is she went on a hiatus. Fans were saddedened but the world kept on spinning. People wondered if she had died or just given up on youtube. She did for a while keep a blog site and would post occasionally about what she was playing and other gaming related articles. Then the site disappeared. She failed to renew her hosting. Bummer.
Then recently she took down her Youtube page and tweeted her farewells. This is where I start to get bothered. Of course it was sad seeing one of my first subsctiptions stop making videos...my weekends of watching SGI will be fondly looked back upon. But I could cope...I had in that time started making my own totally sweet gaming videos for youtube and getting involved with other awesome youtubers and things were good. Occasionally though I'd go back and watch her interviews with the voice cast of Metal Gear Solid, my favorite franchise.
What I'm having trouble understanding is why would she take down her youtube channel? She says it's to focus on her studies furthering her education. That's fine. I applaud her decision to do something empowering and positive in her life. But why the big slap in the face to her thousands and thousands of fans? Why can't I go back and watch an old video? How was it hurting her and detracting from her studies?
She tweeted
" I needed to focus on my life, not the show for awhile and figure things out. I don't think that's unreasonable."
It is not unreasonable, it's an excellent choice as a matter of fact. However a youtube account will exist forever provided you don't delete it. You can go to college, work a job, start a career, fuck you can even birth some babies all while not clicking on the Delete Account button. Quite easily. I dare say it's easier to NOT go through the hassle of logging in, going to the settings and clicking that link and just let the page exist in its current state. Not doing things is perhaps the easiet activity in which a human can engage in.
She also Tweeted
"Sorry, the videos will remain down. Please do not repost them. @********* with all the love comes plenty of hate."
Of course with fans and love comes hate and rudeness. That's the nature of the game. Not everyones going to like you. Some one hates you, yes you reading this post, someone hates you. That's life. So am I to believe that the thousands of people wanting more videos have been sending nasty comments and messages? Is that why she's pulling her page down? I certainly hope she has more self esteem and confidence than that, to let what random internet nerds say effect her life in any way. I have a policy regarding hateful or negative comments on my youtube page. I leave them up, hell I've even quoted some of them on my profile because they're actually pretty funny. Not just because they're a dip shit...just because the shit they talked was pretty harsh and I like that. I believe completely in freedom of speech and every single human being is free to look as stupid as they so choose. I encourage and support it. I will never delete a nasty comment, even if it bruises me ego or pisses me off, I sack up and accept that some idiot doesn't like me.
What upsets me is that she's basically saying FUCK YOU to every one of her thousands of fans. She's decided that I can't watch her videos. That is flat out selfish. Deleting her account serves no one but her. Her fans can be damned, apparently. What if four years later after she's finished school she decideds to make a new gaming related video? None of her fans will know it. Had she left her youtube page up she could notify thousands of people instnatly to her reappearence. According to her twitter page it too will be down by the end of the week. So she can't update her hundreds of twitter followers either.
I believe once a piece of media has been released into the world that it deserves to be preserved. For good or for worse that piece of media belongs to the World at large. There are litterally thousands of people that loved and adored each of her videos. People have watched them over and over and have found hours of enjoyment from Sadie's work. Sadly Sadie has decided you don't deserve to see them ever again. Her amazing interviews with big names in the voice acting and screen writing community have been taken down. Those are pretty significant pieces of work in the gaming press. Deleted for seemingly no reason other than some nasty comments? Or the fact that files existing on a media sharing website might somehow interfere with her education? I call bullshit.
In summary I support her decision to empower herself with further education and taking her life to bigger and better things. That's absoloutely amazing and I wish her all the luck in the World. However the decision to slap her thousands of loyal fans in the face by completely removing her presence from the whole of the internet is sensless and benefits only her but hurts thousands of game fans. Had she left the page up should she decide to do anything she'd have a huge fan base waiting for her with open arms ready to smile and welcome back her quirky energetic presence. If she does come back to the youtube gaming scene I might miss out on it all together, and that's just sad.
Leave me some comments here or on the youtube page that brought you here. I want to know what you think.
I started a mod project. I wanted some practice at putting in a disc window so I opted to get a $15 Gamecube for the sole purpose of chopping up. So I took my Gamecube apart, got out the dremmel and got to work. Taking out the Jewel in the center is easy, it just pops out, then chopping out the area under it was a snap.
Next thing I needed to do was run to Lowe's and Hobby Lobby to get some supplies. For a $1.50 I picked up an 8 by 11 sheet of plexiglass. Then at Hobby Lobby I found a hot glue gun.
Cutting out the plexiglass was also a snap. I peeled off the protective layer of plastic and glued that sucker in. Doesn't look half bad. I put up a video on my youtube channel.

A commenter linked me to some U Channel moulding commonly used by PC modders adding windows to PC cases. So I ordered some of that am waiting for it to come in the mail. You get 6 feet for $4 bucks. That should be plenty for any future projects.
I also found a plastics website that sells differently colored pieces of plexiglass. I ordered some samples. Hopfully the sample pieces are the right size to use as a window in the Gamecube. A 4 by 4 inch square should be enough for that project so here's hoping. If not I'll at least have a good idea of what some colors look like for any future projects.
I'm really excited about getting the U channel moulding. And making that edge look better.
I went to St Francis' the thrift shop in the next town over yesterday. I bought some sweet Laserdisc movies and some cool old EGM's from 1995 and 1999. Old gaming magazines are way cool. There's so much information in them! I really wish I had read gaming mags way back when and had known about all this cool stuff back then. There's articles about the PCFX, FM Towns Marty and the M2 and Nuon. Just so much cool stuff!
On the way out something caught my eye though. A genesis cart I'd been looking for for a while. I saw Strider for the Genesis! For $2.99! Amazing deal for sure. I took it home and cleaned it up and started playing. Wow! What a find platformer/action game! Lots of fun. Definitely going to have a good time messing around with it.
So I just started playing Pokemon Colosseum and so far it's way bad ass. For the most part my Poke-fandom has been limited to the Gameboy/DS games and not so much the console games.
The first console game I had any experience with was the Wii game...Pokemon Battle Revolution. I was not impressed. Later when I started getting games for my Nintendo 64 I picked up Pokemon Snap! and loved it! It was a really fun game but still missing what I loved about the handheld games.
Pokemon Colosseum is the first Pokemon console game with a story mode RPG game. So far I'm loving it. You play as a moody looking fellow with the ability to Snag other peoples Dark Pokemon. You rescue a girl that had been kidnapped and shortly there after find out that she can see Dark Pokemon's auras, the reason she'd been kidnapped in the first place. You team up with her to rescue the Dark Pokemon by snagging them from other trainers. A first for the series. After Snagging the Dark Pokemon you can train them as your own and cleanse the darkness from their aura.
I'm really looking forward to playing the rest of the game. I've been playing Pokemon Leaf Green and am nearing the end of its story mode. After that I plan on starting with either Emerald or Ruby. Emerald and Ruby are compatable with Pokemon Colosseum. So eventually I'll be able to swap Pokemon across all of those games. Bringing my Pokedex nearer to complettion with every trade.
Also looking around on my blogger page I noticed I had the option to set up an Amazon Associates program. So I'm testing that out. Whenever I post about a game I'll include a link to it for sale on amazon. So hopfully someday someone somewhere will click one of these links.
I picked up some games. Most notably Super Butoden 3, Sparkster and Pokemon Colosseum. I can't wait to start Pokemon Colosseum.
Just got my composite cables for the ol Jaguar in the mail today. Wow the difference in picture quality is amazing. Its been a while since I've had to use an rf cable for anything.
At any rate I can now record some sweet Jaguar gameplay.
So I finally found an app that will let me post on my blogger page. I'm surprised blogger doesn't have an official app. But it looks like this will do the job. Now I can do some sweet mobile gaming blogs on the road.
I got my second Atari Jaguar game, a sealed copy of Iron Soldier. I had a lot of free time this weekend for totally sad reasons which gave me time to play with the game all night long. I eventually started to not suck at it and managed to get through the first quarter of the game or so. It was a freakin blast! I'm going to review the game eventually...I've ordered some Jaguar composite cables so I'll be able to record gameplay. So as soon as I get those in I'll take care of it.
I was decently surprised. The games about a million times more fun than Cybermorph which I only bought to test my Jag with. Cybermorph cost me less than $5 so I can forgive its assey-ness. So 50% of my Jag collection is decent now. Sweet!
I finally found an awesome iPod game. Actually I had heard about it quite some time ago on an iPod gaming podcast and wanted it right then. But as soon as I had an iPod touch and the $6.99 to download the game that's just what I did.
I was immediately impressed. The game can be played in either the first person or third person. Much like an Elder Scrolls game I personally like the first person view. However I do switch to third person to check out any new armor or weapons I've picked up. As far as I know you can't scroll the camera around your character so that's a little bummer. So far that's the only complaint I've got and it's a pretty small one.
The combat also reminds me of The Elder Scrolls with the Z targeting of Zelda OoT. You lock on to your enemies and can circle around them and tap the on screen attack button to get stabby.
So far I've completed a few quests and leveled my guy up to 11 and bought some pieces of armor...it's been a lot of fun. The only major problem is the iPod touches shitty battery life.
Wow! Just finished Star Wars The Force Unleased Ultimate Sith Edition! Man...this game was way awesome. My awesome hot babe girlfriend bought it for me for Christmas. I'm about to blow through some of the DLC that comes on the disc with the Ultimate Sith Edition. I can't wait to go through the game a second time and see the alternate ending. I naturally went with the good guy ending as that's how I usually play games. Can't wait to see what the bad guy ending is like.
The game could have been longer but seeing as there's enough reason for me to want to play thorugh a second time...well that adds to its lasting power. All around awesome awesome game.
Also I was playing through a ps1 game on my Psone. Every time I play a game with a Dual Shock controller I'm always like "Holy shit rumbles awesome!" I really need to get around to buying a Dual Shock 3 for my PSTripple. It's amazing how big of a difference it makes. I never cared when I upgraded to the Ps3 but whenever I go back it always surprises me.
Gamefaqs.com just started their annual character battle. It's a popularity contest where video game characters are broken up into brackets and visiters to the site vote for their favorite characters. This year Revolver Ocelot was up against Pokemon Trainer Red. Guess who won? Pokemon Trainer Red! What the fuck? One of the best villains in video game history, no in history period, gets taken out by generic nameless characteristic free Pokemon Trainer Red? Bullshit!
Oh man I did it this time! I'm running a publicity stunt of sorts for my youtube channel. Check this video out.

The first person to officially support the project has well over 3,000 subscirbers so that should really drum up some awareness. Off to a great start. I probably should have given people less time to sub to my channel! I'm afraid I'll have to drive a ton of frickin miles.
Also I mentioned it to my internet friend who is a popular video game journalist with a successful website. So if he decided to mention it on his site it'll really bring the pain! So honestly I'm a little scared of how many subs I manage to score between now and the end of the month.
The iPod touch is the coolest thing ever! I've been playing MGS Touch and it's pretty cool. I had to have it because of my obsession with having Metal Gear games. It's really the only game I've put any time into...I've played this space shooter Meteor Blast. It's a lot of fun. Really reminds me of Super Star Dust HD. I don't know how many games I'm really going to get into on the iPod touch.
