I started a mod project. I wanted some practice at putting in a disc window so I opted to get a $15 Gamecube for the sole purpose of chopping up. So I took my Gamecube apart, got out the dremmel and got to work. Taking out the Jewel in the center is easy, it just pops out, then chopping out the area under it was a snap.

Next thing I needed to do was run to Lowe's and Hobby Lobby to get some supplies. For a $1.50 I picked up an 8 by 11 sheet of plexiglass. Then at Hobby Lobby I found a hot glue gun.

Cutting out the plexiglass was also a snap. I peeled off the protective layer of plastic and glued that sucker in. Doesn't look half bad. I put up a video on my youtube channel.

A commenter linked me to some U Channel moulding commonly used by PC modders adding windows to PC cases. So I ordered some of that am waiting for it to come in the mail. You get 6 feet for $4 bucks. That should be plenty for any future projects.

I also found a plastics website that sells differently colored pieces of plexiglass. I ordered some samples. Hopfully the sample pieces are the right size to use as a window in the Gamecube. A 4 by 4 inch square should be enough for that project so here's hoping. If not I'll at least have a good idea of what some colors look like for any future projects.

I'm really excited about getting the U channel moulding. And making that edge look better.

I went to St Francis' the thrift shop in the next town over yesterday. I bought some sweet Laserdisc movies and some cool old EGM's from 1995 and 1999. Old gaming magazines are way cool. There's so much information in them! I really wish I had read gaming mags way back when and had known about all this cool stuff back then. There's articles about the PCFX, FM Towns Marty and the M2 and Nuon. Just so much cool stuff!

On the way out something caught my eye though. A genesis cart I'd been looking for for a while. I saw Strider for the Genesis! For $2.99! Amazing deal for sure. I took it home and cleaned it up and started playing. Wow! What a find platformer/action game! Lots of fun. Definitely going to have a good time messing around with it.

So I just started playing Pokemon Colosseum and so far it's way bad ass. For the most part my Poke-fandom has been limited to the Gameboy/DS games and not so much the console games.

The first console game I had any experience with was the Wii game...Pokemon Battle Revolution. I was not impressed. Later when I started getting games for my Nintendo 64 I picked up Pokemon Snap! and loved it! It was a really fun game but still missing what I loved about the handheld games.

Pokemon Colosseum is the first Pokemon console game with a story mode RPG game. So far I'm loving it. You play as a moody looking fellow with the ability to Snag other peoples Dark Pokemon. You rescue a girl that had been kidnapped and shortly there after find out that she can see Dark Pokemon's auras, the reason she'd been kidnapped in the first place. You team up with her to rescue the Dark Pokemon by snagging them from other trainers. A first for the series. After Snagging the Dark Pokemon you can train them as your own and cleanse the darkness from their aura.

I'm really looking forward to playing the rest of the game. I've been playing Pokemon Leaf Green and am nearing the end of its story mode. After that I plan on starting with either Emerald or Ruby. Emerald and Ruby are compatable with Pokemon Colosseum. So eventually I'll be able to swap Pokemon across all of those games. Bringing my Pokedex nearer to complettion with every trade.

Also looking around on my blogger page I noticed I had the option to set up an Amazon Associates program. So I'm testing that out. Whenever I post about a game I'll include a link to it for sale on amazon. So hopfully someday someone somewhere will click one of these links.

I picked up some games. Most notably Super Butoden 3, Sparkster and Pokemon Colosseum. I can't wait to start Pokemon Colosseum.

Just got my composite cables for the ol Jaguar in the mail today. Wow the difference in picture quality is amazing. Its been a while since I've had to use an rf cable for anything.

At any rate I can now record some sweet Jaguar gameplay.

So I finally found an app that will let me post on my blogger page. I'm surprised blogger doesn't have an official app. But it looks like this will do the job. Now I can do some sweet mobile gaming blogs on the road.

I got my second Atari Jaguar game, a sealed copy of Iron Soldier. I had a lot of free time this weekend for totally sad reasons which gave me time to play with the game all night long. I eventually started to not suck at it and managed to get through the first quarter of the game or so. It was a freakin blast! I'm going to review the game eventually...I've ordered some Jaguar composite cables so I'll be able to record gameplay. So as soon as I get those in I'll take care of it.

I was decently surprised. The games about a million times more fun than Cybermorph which I only bought to test my Jag with. Cybermorph cost me less than $5 so I can forgive its assey-ness. So 50% of my Jag collection is decent now. Sweet!
