I am pretty excited to get House of the Dead 3 and 4 on PSN. There is just something vaguely satisfying about on-rail arcade shooters. I play a lot of House of the Dead 1 and 2 at mall when i was younger, if there was anything to convince me to get a Playstation Move set, this may be it.
Has anyone played Konami's Lethal Enforcers? It came out in 91 and has that digitized Mortal Kombat graphics style. Area 51 was a similar game, but with aliens instead of hijackers.
I would like to see a resurgence of this genre with the Wii and Move. Not just kiddie shit, game hunting, and carnival games, but using real guns and shooting armed men, Stormtroopers, or zombies. You know the huge ass arsenal you could potentially have in MGS4? Put that in a rail shooter.
As far as MGS3 on the 3DS, I'm impressed that a handheld console can make an almost flawless remake. But this is another example about Nintendo's over-reliance on nostalgia with the 3DS. First it was Starfox64 and others, and now it's an MGS3 port. Similar in fashion to the Gameboy Advance upon launch: tons of SNES remakes. I'm ready for Nintendo to start pumping out games (plural) that melt my face off and make me want to buy a 3DS.
